In begehbaren Installationen reiht er Videos, Skulpturen, Gemälde und Zeichnungen so aneinander, dass mehrere Erzählstränge eine komplexe Geschichte formen, deren roter Faden jedoch nur subjektiv vom jeweiligen Betrachter herauszulesen ist. Op de Beeck hält seine Arbeiten bewusst offen, um Raum für individuelle Interpretationen und Erinnerungen zu schaffen. Anlässlich seiner neuesten raumgreifenden Inszenierungen in München, die Werke der Sammlung Goetz präsentieren, erscheint eine neue Publikation, die das gesamte Schaffen des Künstlers während der letzten Jahrzehnte darstellt: von Videoinstallationen der 1990er-Jahre über Skulpturen und Papierarbeiten bis zu ortsbezogenen Environments.
