Der Schäfer und sein Hund ist ein kooperatives Brettspiel aus dem Jahr 1984 von Spear Spiele. In diesem Gesellschaftsspiel steuern die Spieler gemeinsam den Schäfer und seinen Hund, um fünf Schafe in ein Gatter zu treiben. Das Spiel ist besonders für Familien und Kinder geeignet, da es einfache Mechaniken und einen hohen Spaßfaktor für einen gelungenen Spieleabend bietet.

Das Spiel enthält einen Spielplan, den Schäfer, den Hund, fünf Schafe und Zäune. Gewürfelt wird mit zwei Würfeln, die Symbole für Schaf, Gras, Sonne und Schäferhund zeigen. Die Spieler bewegen Hund und Schafe taktisch über das Spielfeld, wobei die Schafe Gras fressen und sich nach bestimmten Regeln bewegen.
