The Rat ABeta1-40 (Amyloid Beta 1-40) ELISA immunoassay kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat ABeta1-40. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Rat ABeta1-40 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Rat ABeta1-40, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Rat ABeta1-40. You can calculate the concentration of Rat ABeta1-40 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

I’m a really tough pillow critic and have a hard time finding one I actually like. With that said, this pillow was better than a lot of others I’ve tried—mainly because you can remove some of the latex shavings to adjust the firmness. I ended up taking out about 20% (do it over a big trash can because the shavings can get messy!). When it arrived it was too firm for me, which is why I had to take some filling out. Even after adjusting it, it’s still not my absolute favorite pillow, but I do use it every night as a “hug” pillow and it works great for that. I think people who aren’t as picky as I am will probably really enjoy it, especially since you can customize the amount of latex to get it just right. I’d give it 3.5 stars, but rounded up to 4.
