Original to Beat notes: Picking up right where the last track on the previous COH release RETRO-2038 (EMEGO 172 CD/LP) left off, the new album is focused on the use of beats within the similar aesthetics. While most of the previous COH records openly shy away from accentuated beat structures and instead build up their rhythmical content by layering waves and pulses, every track on to Beat is padded with just that - beats. The music transition is illustrated in the album's artwork, displaying transformation of a sine-wave, a tone, into a waveform which is "beat." This mathematical progression is made audible in the album's opening track. The rest of the album, however, steers clear from dull math and presents the beats in their more traditional context of what could be referred to as "adventurous dance music," taking the listener through various examples of beat use with the sense of playfulness and joy. The final piece, "Beat to Wave," wraps it up by dissolving a simplistic post-techno piece into a tonal chord. This brings back the album's main idea, where tone and beat are essentially one and the same, like vowels and consonants in a language, like Yin and Yang in music.

Bright solar lights

Great look. Cool white lights are bright and lighten my dark walkway. My only con is that the solar panels on the flat top turned white after a few months from rain/water sitting on them. The lights continue to work well, despite the tops being 'milky' white.

Gama Sonic Solar Lights: Built to Last and Guaranteed

These lights are nice and bright and stay on all night. I have other Gama Sonic solar lights also. One of them, which I didn't buy from Amazon, had a problem so I contacted Gama Sonic directly because they have a 2-year warranty. They responded immediately and I got it fixed and now I'm happy with it. I will keep buying their solar lights because they make good quality solar lights and have a 2-year warranty.

Very strong construction--no plastic

Expensive, but appears to be very well made. The lights are made of aluminum, so the support is sturdier than the usual plastic. The poles are in two parts, so you have a choice of heights the light is above the surface. Battery replacements are expensive, but you should get two years or more from a battery. You have a choice of a quite bright white light or a less bright yellow light.
