VIO X310

Introducing VIO X300 series, the evolution of our premium line VIO X: powerful, tour-grade, three-way tri-amped point source speakers for public address in large venues. VIO X315 is a self-powered point source speakers capable of delivering outstanding sound pressure levels for the size, thanks to premium components, a three-way tri-amplified design and state of the art electronics.

The 3-way tri-amped design.

The MF-HF coaxial component mounted in both VIO X310 and VIO X315 utilise the same transducer used in the widely successful VIO L1610 line array module: it's a 4” voice coil plus 2.5” voice coil coaxial driver, an incredible heavy-duty and high-fidelity transducer reproducing from 500Hz up.

When it comes down to detailed mid-range reproduction, a compression driver diaphragm is much quicker and more accurate than a similar sized woofer. Furthermore, because of the compact dimensions, this content can be easily dispersed through a horn, just like you would do with an HF driver, for improved control over the sonic pattern.

These characteristics result in an incredibly faithful and meticulous reproduction of the most critical frequency range, essential for clear-cut intelligible vocals and instrument separation in your mix.

Since a great portion of the frequency content is horn loaded, not only is the sound pressure level impressive due to the acoustic loading, but also directivity control is maximised.

Last but not least, the sum of all these clever acoustic design choices combined with cutting edge class-D amplifiers and DSP processing result in remarkable sound pressure levels, as high as 137dB.

VIO X315 is equipped with a single high performance 15" neodymium woofer, capable of providing loud, precise, wide band performances, with no compromises.

The goal was to develop a real full-range PA system, with an astounding wide frequency response, reaching as low as 37Hz.

In this model, the mid-hi coaxial transducer is placed behind a 90°x50° horn which has been designed with a slight tilt downwards (around 5°) to optimise the coverage in average venues.

Electronics and processing.

Modern Tour requirements include a very reliable design and extended use of technology to adapt the PA to any venue anywhere in the world: VIO X300 series takes advantages of the entire range of available upgrades derived from the VIO series development in the last years.

The series is equipped with a 1400W RMS Class-D Digipro G4 power amplifier, a 4-channel amplifier able to drive each component individually, with dedicated FIR filters enabled sound processing for low, mid and high frequencies.

This amp has been specially designed for VIO X300 series and allows for complete networkability via Aurora Net thanks to RDNet ports. A modular card slot is ready for future I/O and remote-control upgrades.

A Power Factor Corrections enabled PSU ensures extreme adaptability to any environment while an integrated System Test checks for any possible transducer failure during the show. Also, a frontal LED light will always allow to determine the position of any remote controlled VIO X3 enclosure at any time via Aurora Net Software, the same suite used to access the speakers’ advanced processing instances, such as delay up to 560ms and up to 16 EQ filters.

VIO X300 makes the most of the acoustic design, delivering an astounding SPL and allowing for full bandwidth capabilities.

All of the above great advantages come with the ease of use of any other conventional active point source speaker.

Thanks to specific brackets and M10 threads, VIO X300 series can be utilised as fills in larger setups, such as a full range under balcony or delay system in fixed installations. Equally VIO X300 can be deployed as a compact, complete standalone 3-way system for any audience.

Lastly, VIO X300 can cover large, open air sound reinforcement setups, serving as high SPL fills, or powerful standalone PAs for the most demanding applications.

Satyajit Ray's Great Trilogy Masterpiece Gets the Criterion Treatment In Blu Ray!
Years before trilogies were in vogue, way before "The Godfather" there was "The Apu Trilogy". The original negatives were lost in a fire and yet Criterion has managed to work miracles with this masterful restoration of this beautiful classic tale of the life of a Bengalese child to adulthood over 3 films. The story is compelling and absorbing and directed as only a master like Satyajit Ray can. Any attempt to further describe this movie would just not do justice to it; it has to be experienced and rewards repeated viewing. This release also includes a 48-page booklet of essays on the film in addition to the 3 blu ray discs of the films. Great sound and picture quality is evident as well considering the film's age and source master. This worthy addition to any art-film buff's video library comes highly recommended!

What is the point? (SPOILER)
My heading echoes the adult Apu who, in the last movie in the trilogy says, "What is the use?" and allows the pages of his autobiographical novel to blow away in a wind. In the first two movies we enter the very real life of a rural Indian family whose members are all lovingly created by director and actors. But their story is rather sad. First Apu's young sister dies of illness, a fate shared much later by their father. Then the life of the mother dwindles away and Apu is left alone. The restoration of the nearly-destroyed films is a technological marvel, but I wondered if this tale would attain to anything of lasting value by the end. With the third and last movie in this series, I can reach a somewhat different conclusion. There is death and suffering in this last part too as Apu's wife dies early on but the entire narrative reaches a sudden and surprising resolution when Apu unites with his long-abandoned little boy who is himself a mirror of Apu growing up. There is something of a vacuous Asian experience in this cinematic telling but it doesn't really come to nothing as the stereotype might suggest. I recall that experience in David Lean's rendering of E.M.Forster's A Passage to India, a wonderful movie too but, like the novel, lending itself to earlier Western ideas about the East. An element of life, freedom, joy bursts upon us at the end of Ray's movie and transforms everything we have seen before. Yes, life is risky, unpredictable, filled with suffering, but it can still lead to something wonderful.

Masterpieces of Indian cinema
A memorable trilogy by Indian master filmmaker, Satyajit Ray. My personal favourite of the three is the first one, Pather Panchali (Song of the Little Road). It is a moving and extraordinary portrait of rural poverty in India, focused on the trials and tribulations of a struggling family. This trilogy is a must for the collections all lovers of world cinema.

Custom Mailer
Excellent item as you probably know . I'm THRILLED about the shipping all around & fast delivery to porch but I would like to compliment whomever is responsible for custom cardboard mailer it came in. I worried reading some of the major complaints from recent years about packaging issues and damages suffered to box & DVD's . It would appear that the manufacturers corrected this issue. I'm very happy with our distribution outlet in El Paso , Texas . I'm west 90 miles from in New Mexico and I think they terrific and professional. Not one order came damaged , late or poorly packaged so Thank You all responsible parties. Oh yeah , the ''Essential Fellini'' anthology ( minus a few films not added and missing correct documentary Ive seen about the director ) is your final replacement !

The best Fellini collection on the US market
The collection is a bit pricey, but in this case you get what you pay for. These movies have all been restored beautifully, and the box is a delight. The packaging is a fairly sturdy cardboard box. It is quite large, so you may have trouble fitting it onto a bookshelf. Mine protrudes about an inch past the end of my shelf. Inside the box is a large folio for the discs and two novel-sized books. One is a guide to each of the films, and the other is full of essays about Fellini and his work. The movies all look great. The blu-ray upgrades look great compared to my old vhs or dvd copies of some of his works. There was a new restoration of all of these films right before the set came out, and it shows. The black and white contrast looks crisp and the color films really pop. As for the quality of the films, you know that some of these are considered top films of all time. The lesser films are still good to great. I think that all of these films are worth watching over and over, and all of them have great special features. All in all, this set is very much worth it, especially during the July sale. I bought it half price, and I feel I got an incredible bargain. All in all, this is probably the best Criterion box set. Don't hesitate, buy it.
