Formed by the confluence of the Ocmulgee and Oconee Rivers, the Altamaha is the largest free-flowing river on the East Coast and drains its third-largest watershed. It has been designated as one of the Nature Conservancy's seventy-five Last Great Places because of its unique character and rich natural diversity. In evocative photography and elegant prose, Altamaha captures the distinctive beauty of this river and offers a portrait of the man who has become its improbable guardian.

Few people know the Altamaha better than James Holland. Raised in Cochran, Georgia, Holland spent years on the river fishing, hunting, and working its coastal reaches as a commercial crabber. Witnessing a steady decline in blue crab stocks, Holland doggedly began to educate himself on the area's environmental and political issues, reaching a deep conviction that the only way to preserve the way of life he loved was to protect the river and its watershed. In 1999, he began serving as the first Altamaha Riverkeeper, finding new purpose in protecting the river and raising awareness about its plight with people in his community and beyond.

At first Holland used photography to document pollution and abuse, but as he came to appreciate and understand the Altamaha in new ways, his photographs evolved, focusing more on the natural beauty he fought to save. More than 230 color photographs capture the area's majestic landscapes and stunning natural diversity, including a generous selection of some the 234 species of rare plants and animals in the region. In their essays, Janisse Ray offers a profile of Holland's transformation from orphan and troubled high school dropout to river advocate, and Dorinda G. Dallmeyer celebrates the biological richness and cultural heritage that the Altamaha offers to all Georgians.

Great looking and easy to install.
Size: 6 pairs
These 24K gold-plated banana adapter connectors have proven to be an excellent choice for my outdoor speakers, providing a clean and seamless installation. The quality of these banana plugs is outstanding. The 24K gold plating not only adds a touch of elegance but also ensures optimal conductivity and corrosion resistance. I appreciate the attention to detail in the design, which allows for a secure and reliable connection between the speaker wire and the speakers themselves. Installation was a breeze. The plugs fit snugly into the speaker wire, providing a secure connection that minimizes signal loss. The process was straightforward and hassle-free, allowing me to set up my outdoor speakers quickly and efficiently.

The banana connectors are great, I don’t know why I haven’t used them before. Very easy to install. I cut the wires and started fresh.

Great product but screws are annoying
Size: 6 pairs
These 24K gold-plated banana plugs are a solid choice if you’re looking for an easy and reliable way to connect your speaker wire. The connectors feel sturdy, and the gold plating gives them a clean, professional look while also helping prevent corrosion. Installation was straightforward — the wire slots fit snugly, and once tightened down, the connection feels secure. I used them for both my home theater and stereo setup, and the sound quality is clear with no noticeable interference or loss. The pack includes 6 pairs (12 plugs), which is plenty for most speaker setups, and they fit my receiver and speaker terminals perfectly. My only small complaint is that the screws could be a bit tighter or smoother when clamping the wire — you just need to make sure they’re seated properly to get the best hold. Still, once installed, they stay firmly in place.

Works great with all speaker wires
Size: 6 pairs
It works pretty well with standard and thin speaker wires. It makes so much easier to plug and unplug speaker wires. Color coded makes it easier for future. Banana plugs are worth. Double screws ensure wires remain securely attached. Screws are bit too tiny and had to run to the store to get one of those fine tip screw driver though.
