The Hollyland Mars M1 Monitor Hood (Model: HL-SH01) is an official factory spare sunshade built explicitly for the Mars M1 and Mars M1 Enhanced 5.5-inch wireless transceiving monitors.

While the monitor sports a bright 1,000-nit daylight-viewable screen, direct midday sunlight can still create washing reflections. This custom-molded hood creates a deep physical recess around the glass, cutting out stray glare and preserving visible contrast for directors, focus pullers, or clients tracking the frame outdoors.

Core Hardware & Design Features

  • Rigid Snap-On Mounting Bracket: Unlike sloppy, universal cloth sunhoods that rely on saggy velcro strips, the HL-SH01 utilizes a custom-fitted, semi-rigid plastic mounting frame. It snaps firmly over the outer bezel of the 5.5" screen housing, locking into place using the monitor's native structural layout.

  • Toolless Assembly Strategy: The assembly features a simple two-part interlocking system. The main mounting collar slides onto the monitor chassis, and the collapsible shade portion quickly hooks into the frame, allowing you to deploy or strip down the monitor rig in seconds without hunting for tools.

  • Unobstructed Port Access: Because it is laser-mapped to the exact millimeter dimensions of the Mars M1 frame, the mounting tabs are strategically placed to leave the antennas, NP-F battery plate, bottom $1/4"-20$ rigging threads, power button, and DC/HDMI ports entirely clear.

  • Collapsible Flat-Pack Storage: The hood walls fold down flat when detached from the main mounting frame. This design allows you to slip the entire sunhood into thin pockets inside your primary camera gear bag or peli-case without wasting precious storage depth.

Another fine Benchmark Atlas.
Format: Spiral-bound
We travel a lot and own 6 benchmark atlases now. They're the finest on the market and include camping and fishing information and show the forest service and other backroads. What's special about the British Columbia atlas is that it is spiral bound. I just replaced my Oregon atlas after 20 years because the cover had ripped up and torn off and the pages were falling out. I hope they will all be spiral bound from now on.

Another good Benchmark Atlas
Format: Spiral-bound
We camp frequently and own all of the Benchmark Atlases. Although, this is different due to Canadian laws, we are excited to try it out! Very detailed with information, such as small campgrounds and identifying land ownership (Forest services or BLM)

Memories of the Camino
Format: Paperback
First off, I have to say that my husband and I know Angela, the author. We met her because she is a neighbor of my sister, living in Hawaii. We discovered that she planned to walk the Camino de Santiago de Compostela the same year we were (2016) ! On a visit to Hawaii, we met with Angela and did a little local hike together. She was so enthusiastic and had prepared well. We, too, had been reading up and watching videos, getting suggestions as to what to bring, how to deal with physical issues and weather, what to pack and what not to pack, etc. Still, for anyone doing the Camino - whether the WHOLE 500 miles or doing the required 100 km to get the certificate at the final destination: Santiago de Compostela, Spain - it is a very personal endeavor. Reading Angela Leslee's book gives you the personal story of her "camino," and it is captivating. The changes that take place in her life - the discoveries she makes, the people she meets, the failures she feels, the fears, the habits that get broken (such as food choices!) - all make for an adventure that is life-changing and an interesting read. For anyone considering this pilgrimage, because that's what it is, this book will inspire you. You don't need to be part of a "group." You don't need a lot of plans. You do need to be prepared to be changed. The memory for myself and my husband is that it is the best shared experience we have had together in our 50 years of marriage! Angela's book brought back so many wonderful memories for us. I highly recommend this book.
