The long-awaited memoir of Regina Moreno, the daughter of J.L. Moreno and Florence Bridge Moreno, brings new information about the founder of psychodrama, sociometry and group psychotherapy as well as an inside view of the everyday life of this extraordinary family.
The title, ÒWords of the Daughter: A Memoir,Ó is a gentle play on the title of her fatherÕs early book which he called ÒWords of the Father,Ó taken from his scribbling on the walls of his room as a young man, claiming to channel the words of God.
ReginaÕs memoir begins with her birth in 1939 at the prestigious Doctors Hospital in New York City, when her father was already beginning to make a name for himself as the founder of the new Beacon Hill Sanitarium in Beacon, N.Y., which housed an unusual theater where patients enacted their problems using the psychodramatic method that Moreno developed.
Through the chapters, Regina continues to reveal details about everyday life in the Moreno household and her childhood struggle, sometimes with fear and loneliness, as she navigated a world where her fatherÕs work dominated family life and the mental patients at her fatherÕs sanitarium became her friends and playmates.
She tells us about her mother FlorenceÕs haunting loss of her own mother who died in the 1919 flu pandemic Ð and FlorenceÕs emotional struggles after Moreno started his extramarital relationship with Zerka. She introduces us to her beloved paternal grandmother Pauline Levy Ð who she called ÒOmamaÓ Ð who told her family stories as a little girl. We also meet her Uncle William Moreno, her Aunt Anne and their son, her cousin Joseph, all important figures in her childhood social atom.
Most importantly, Florence is revealed as a woman of accomplishment, present during the early days of MorenoÕs work in the United States, particularly at the New York Training School for Girls in Hudson, where Florence worked as a student counselor. Florence made significant contributions both in the integration of developmental issues in human development and in sociometric development and quietly used psychodrama and sociometry in her long-time career as a public school teacher and musician.

Nice Idea, but Durability Was Very Limited
Color: Reed, Seaweed & Corn Husk, Seaweed & Corn Silk, Number of Items: 3
These woven grass chew balls are a nice concept and made from natural materials, which I appreciated. They are lightweight, easy for dogs to carry, and can be fun for light play or supervised interaction. The texture also seems appealing for chewing and tossing around. However, the main issue was durability. For my miniature Goldendoodle, the toys lasted only a few minutes before starting to come apart. If your dog is an active chewer, these may not hold up very long. They may be better suited for very gentle chewers or short-term play rather than dogs that like to really chew. The natural material aspect is a plus, but longevity was disappointing. Because of the limited durability, I’m giving these three stars. Good idea, but they did not last long enough for my dog.

Fun outdoor/indoor mental stimulation for dogs
Color: All, Number of Items: 12
These Natural dog chew toys are great; here are a few highlights from my experience: • Woven by hand with 100% natural ingredients such as corn leaf, reed, timothy hay, corn husk corn silk, and seaweed. • These toys are lightweight and can be used as a chew toy, play toy, or for mental stimulation. These have a light sent to them, so I hid them around our large farm and let the pups search for them by scent. It was challenging for them, but they were so excited when they found them. • They are tied together like a puzzle rope. One of my pups loves the challenge of slowing trying to unravel this, while the other one just wants to destroy it. • I let my dogs have these outside only, that way if they are destroyed it will just be natural fertilizer for our farm. If you want them to use them inside, they may get messy depending on how aggressive a chewer your dog is. • Some of these will last longer than others just because they have different natural ingredients. Keep in mind that these are great, but they are not rubber, so they are not meant to last for years with a dog that is an aggressive chewer. • Depending on your dog and how they are, these may last for a long time, or for a short time. They will last for a while if your pup is a light chewer, but if they are an aggressive chewer they may not last very long. Either way you are giving your dog a natural fun toy that will challenge them while still keeping them healthy.

Did not work for my dog.
Color: Reed, Seaweed & Corn Husk, Seaweed & Corn Silk, Number of Items: 3, Color: Reed, Seaweed & Corn Husk, Seaweed & Corn Silk, Number of Items: 3
Never again will I get these. I got this for my heeler puppy and she demolished them within seconds and the pieces got stuck in her teeth. I also did some research and dogs should not eat corn husk do you own research but it’s not recommended.

Nice enrichment toy for active dogs
This is a fun interactive dog toy for days when my dog needs extra activity inside. The automatic rolling motion makes it more engaging than a standard ball. It works best on hard floors or flat surfaces, and the USB-C charging is convenient.

Good entertainment for my puppy
Style: Milk & Cookies, Style: Milk & Cookies
My puppy was 11 weeks when I got this toy. She loved the cookies because that was the pretty much only thing that she can grab and make squeaky sound. She didn’t show any interest to the milk carton or play with the holes. One week later, we put cookies and other chew toys in there and she figured out how to take them out. Sometimes she wants to put them back. And now she also play with the milk carton by chewing and carrying it. It is bigger than her. But she lifts her head up high and carrying it around. So cute. The cookies are so bouncy when she drops them, making her to want to play more. Update: original purchase was in August 2025. Now May 2026, both cookies and milk carton are still intact and the favorite toy of our two dogs.
