This chair is made from the American Seating Company in Michigan, from plywood or birch with metal struts and dates from the 1930s/40s - made for the American military during WW2 and built to last. This is an early one, shown by the use of metal struts.

The folding mechanism is very ingenious and pleasing to the eye. I've videoed it so I'll put a link up shortly.

With the light wood colour and metal struts, this chair fits perfectly with the current mid-century modern/Scandinavian look or, indeed, industrial look that's so popular at the moment.

It's stylish, well-made, interesting and practical - what more could you want?

Wear and tear commensurate with age and use. Solid with no wobbles or repairs.
