Teenager John Ireland and a younger boy, William Doyley (D'Oyly) lived with the islanders as captives until rescued, on June 3, 1836, by captain Charles Morgan Lewis on the schooner "Isabella". The recovered skulls of the Charles Eaton crew and passengers are buried in the Bunnerong Cemetery at Botany Bay in Sydney. "Wreck Of the Charles Eaton" is painful to read but history cannot be changed.
