Traditionally cooked with chicken, Pomegranate Walnut Sauce is also delicious made with beans, roasted vegetables like butternut squash, or even plain. Simply simmer the sauce with your preferred protein or vegetable, then spoon it over rice to serve. For a truly showstopping main course, garnish with a handful of fresh pomegranate seeds.
With its natural hint of fruity sweetness, and comforting notes of cinnamon and turmeric, Pomegranate Walnut Sauce was always one of my favorite dishes growing up, and it makes a perfect introduction to Persian cuisine.
