Built for 4 and 5 weight rods, the TR is purpose-designed for the kind of all-around trout fishing most anglers do most of the time. From dry fly presentations on the Uncompahgre to nymph rigs on the Gunnison, the carbon and stainless multi-disk drag system delivers substantial resistance with the kind of fine adjustability serious anglers need, while the iconic click-pawl sound brings the soul of vintage fly fishing into a modern reel.
Every Abel TR is hand machined by Abel's master machinists in Montrose, Colorado, the same machinists who build every Abel reel in the lineup. When you buy an Abel from Ed's Fly Shop, you are buying a reel made by our neighbors right here in our hometown.
