This absinthe is distilled from a base of neutral grape spirit and traditional botanicals, including grand wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), green anise, and sweet fennel, then naturally colored using whole herbs. It is bottled at 68% ABV (136 proof).
In the glass, it shows classic structure and balance, with pronounced anise, herbal depth, and a firm bitterness from wormwood, supported by a layered, aromatic finish. When diluted with water, it develops a full, opalescent louche.
Jade 1901 is widely regarded for its adherence to traditional absinthe production and profile, reflecting the style of pre-1915 French absinthes.
