STENABOLIC (SR-9009)

SR9009, also known as Stenabolic, has been studied in mice and shown to increase running speed, reduce obesity levels, and boost mitochondrial production, thus enhancing muscle mass and metabolism.

Although SR-9009 is often associated with Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators (SARMs), it functions via different pathways. It is actually a Rev-ErbA agonist—a nuclear receptor reverse viral erythroblastosis oncogene product alpha agonist—found in the liver, skeletal muscles, and brain. It is most notable for its role in influencing circadian rhythms.

SR-9009 and Weight Loss

In a study conducted by Solt et al., mice were administered SR-9009 or saline injections twice a day while on a high-fat diet (comprising 60% fat and 20% carbohydrates). The study aimed to assess whether SR-9009 could aid weight loss in diet-induced obesity cases (source).

It was observed that due to the stress of bi-daily injections, both sets of mice lost body fat. However, mice treated with SR-9009 lost 60% more fat than those treated with saline injections. Additionally, substantial reductions were reported in plasma triglycerides (12%), total cholesterol (47%), plasma glucose levels (19%), leptin (80%), and inflammatory cytokines (72%) in the mice administered SR-9009 (source).

SR-9009 and Bone Density

In another intriguing study by Song et al., 12-week-old female mice were housed in a research laboratory under a strict 12-hour light and dark cycle and were provided with free access to food and water. Forty mice were divided into groups that either underwent full ovariectomy or a sham operation. After the procedure, the mice were injected with varying doses of SR-9009 (source).

Overall, the study's findings indicated that SR-9009 supplementation inhibited the differentiation of osteoclast formation in mice, suggesting reduced bone degradation. Furthermore, in female mice that underwent ovariectomy to simulate postmenopausal bone loss, supplementation with SR-9009 led to a greater number of bone trabeculae in the femur and tibia. The bone volume and tissue also increased by a factor of 1.550, 1.701, or 1.601 upon administering doses of 30, 50, or 100 mg/kg of SR-9009, respectively (source).

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.
