"With this book, you feel you can stop time and savor the rituals of life." --Maira Kalman An immersive journey through the culture and cuisine of one Japanese town, its forest, and its watershed--where ducks are hunted by net, saké is brewed from the purest mountain water, and charcoal is fired in stone kilns--by an American writer and food stylist who spent years working alongside artisans One night, Brooklyn-based artist and food writer Hannah Kirshner received a life-changing invitation to apprentice with a "saké evangelist" in a misty Japanese mountain village called Yamanaka. In a rapidly modernizing Japan, the region--a stronghold of the country's old-fashioned ways--was quickly becoming a destination for chefs and artisans looking to learn about the traditions that have long shaped Japanese culture. Kirshner put on a vest and tie and took her place behind the saké bar. Before long, she met a community of craftspeople, farmers, and foragers--master woodturners, hunters, a paper artist, and a man making charcoal in his nearly abandoned village on the outskirts of town. Kirshner found each craftsperson not only exhibited an extraordinary dedication to their work but their distinct expertise contributed to the fabric of the local culture. Inspired by these masters, she devoted herself to learning how they work and live. Taking readers deep into evergreen forests, terraced rice fields, and smoke-filled workshops, Kirshner captures the centuries-old traditions still alive in Yamanaka. Water, Wood, and Wild Things invites readers to see what goes into making a fine bowl, a cup of tea, or a harvest of rice and introduces the masters who dedicate their lives to this work. Part travelogue, part meditation on the meaning of work, and full of her own beautiful drawings and recipes, Kirshner's refreshing book is an ode to a place and its people, as well as a profound examination of what it means to sustain traditions and find purpose in cultivation and craft.Shipping Notes

Durable
Pattern Name: Detachable high wall
Much better then just using pads, and they can’t chew the pads.

Great pee pad holder
Pattern Name: Detachable high wall
This pee pad holder has made me and my pup’s life so much easier! It’s light, easy to clean, and works well with my pup! It’s a lifesaver when it’s really cold and rainy outside for my pup to have a dry place to go potty. Would recommend to all dog owners, especially those in apartments with small spaces.

Great quality, easy to clean, fit well the standard pee pad (24x24). Hopefully I can get my dog well trained to not have any accidents.

A Game Changer for Puppy Training!
Pattern Name: Detachable high wall
I recently purchased the PAWISE Dog Pee Pad Holder Tray with Splash Guard, and I have to say, it has made a significant difference in our puppy training routine!
First off, the size is perfect for my small to medium-sized dog. The 23.6-inch tray provides ample space for the puppy pads, and I've found that it holds them securely in place — no more slipping or sliding around, which is a major plus! The detachable high wall is a great feature, as it helps contain any messes or spills, keeping my floors clean. The splash guard really works; we had some initial worries about our puppy being a bit of a scatterer during pee time, but this tray has nearly eliminated those issues.
Cleaning it is a breeze. The tray is easy to wipe down, and since it’s designed to keep everything contained, I don’t have to spend a long time cleaning up after accidents. I also appreciate the durable material—it's clear that it's built to last.
One thing I didn't expect was how much my puppy took to it. He seemed to understand what it was for right away, which made the whole potty training process less stressful for both of us. The high-wall design gives him a sense of enclosure that I think he finds comforting.
Overall, I would highly recommend the PAWISE Dog Pee Pad Holder Tray for anyone who's in the midst of puppy training. It’s functional, easy to clean, and has made our indoor potty routine much more manageable. This product is definitely worth the investment!

Fur Family Necessity
Pattern Name: Detachable high wall
How have I gone so long without this in my life? I've struggled for a bit with my older dog and the messes he makes. He loves this potty pad and now I don't have to clean up as many messes as I once did. The holder cleans up easily and as long as he's not chewing on this, it should last a good long while.
