Join us for a special MasterClass exploring the wines of Domaine Verdant, one of Oregon's most compelling small-production estates. Led by founder and proprietor Dr. Ron Sanchez, this tasting offers a rare opportunity to discover how world-class academic rigor and a passion for fine wine converge in the pursuit of excellence.
Before founding Domaine Verdant, Dr. Sanchez built an internationally acclaimed academic career, earning multiple degrees from MIT and serving as a professor and researcher at leading institutions around the world, including the Copenhagen Business School, where he is now Professor Emeritus of Strategy and Innovation. His analytical approach and commitment to precision are evident throughout every aspect of the estate, from vineyard management to cellar practices, with a singular focus on producing wines that rank among the finest examples of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay anywhere in the world.
Nestled in the heart of Oregon's acclaimed Yamhill-Carlton AVA, Domaine Verdant farms just ten acres of estate vineyards planted to classic Dijon clones of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The estate's unique combination of ancient marine soils, glacial deposits from the historic Missoula Flood, and cooling Pacific breezes flowing through the Van Duzer Corridor creates ideal conditions for producing wines of exceptional depth, elegance, and mineral complexity.
Producing only around 800 cases annually, Domaine Verdant releases its wines only after extended aging, ensuring they are fully mature and ready to enjoy upon release. More than 90% of production is exported to top restaurants in Northern Europe, including Copenhagen's three-Michelin-starred Geranium.
Throughout the evening, we'll taste a selection of estate-grown Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays while exploring the distinctive terroir, vineyard practices, and winemaking philosophy that have established Domaine Verdant as one of Oregon's most intriguing boutique producers.
