Tracheal tubes with a suction port above the cuff can assist in reducing the rate of ventilator-associated pneumonia.

The Portex® Suction Above the Cuff Endotracheal Tube (SACETT®) is part of the Blue Line® range of Endotracheal tubes.  It has been specifically designed to reduce VAP. The SACETT® combines the quality features of the Blue Line® range with the ability to remove secretions from above the cuff while leaving the tube in position.

The incorporation of an additional posterior lumen with a subglottic evacuation opening above the cuff enables continuous aspiration of subglottic secretions (CASS).

The low pressure, high volume Soft-Seal^® cuff is intended to minimise trauma to the trachea and protect the patient’s airway when inflated by maintaining the air delivered from a ventilator to a patient's lungs preventing aspiration.  The Soft-Seal^® cuff is shaped to encourage secretions to pool around the evacuation opening.

The unique feature of SACETT® is the incorporation of the high-volume, low pressure Soft-Seal® reverse cuff to aid the pooling of secretions for aspiration.

 The integral suction lumen of Blue Line Ultra SACETT® allows removal of pooled secretions which may lead to patient discomfort and lead to ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP).

 A spring-loaded, one-way valve helps ensure cuff inflation and integrity. The large ergonomic pilot balloon makes it easier to distinguish between the sound of suction and that of a cuff leak, aend enables the tube size to be identified in position.

 The yellow coded suction line and connector enables easy identification and the prevention of accidental cutting.  Suction line cap is intended to prevent contaminants entering the lumen when suction is suspended, such as during patient transport.

 Clear PVC material with radiopaque marker enables clear visualisation for correct tube positioning whilst enabling breath misting to be seen.

 The smooth cuff-to-tube weld, polished tapered tip with murphy eye echoes the quality features of our Blue Line® range, designed to reduce trauma to the patient’s airway during intubation and extubation.

The tube has a 15mm connector enabling connection to anaesthetic and ventilator breathing circuits.
