BLACK VINYL LP.

"Lake Street Dive's new album, Obviously, will be released March 2021 on Nonesuch Records. In celebration of the forthcoming record, the group has premiered its new single, "Nobody's Stopping You Now," a letter of encouragement from lead vocalist Rachael Price to her teenage self, co-written with bassist Bridget Kearney.

Making Do, which was released at the end of last year, speaks to the world that future generations are inheriting while exploring the lasting impacts of climate change and our responsibility to address it.

As Price puts it, "You're trying to express your anxieties, your feelings, your sadness, your happiness, all of these things - your authentic state of being in a song. But you're also trying to create something people will listen to over and over again. That's the unique fun thing about music, putting these messages into three and a half minute snippets, dropping whatever truth we can and hoping it's the type of thing that people want to ruminate on."

Obviously was produced by Grammy Award-winning producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Mike Elizondo who is best known as a songwriting collaborator for Dr. Dre, Eminem, and 50 Cent and has also served as a record producer for Fiona Apple, Mary J. Blige, Carrie Underwood, and 21 Pilots, among many others. Utilizing Elizondo's hip-hop record-making expertise coupled with the permanent addition of keyboardist Akie Bermiss, Lake Street Dive's wide-ranging taste in pop, rock, R&B, and jazz have blended together to make an impressively cohesive sound, combining retro influences with a contemporary attitude.

We've been a band for so long that we didn't want to just become a feedback loop of our own ideas, recounts Kearney. "It felt like a really good time to bring another person like Mike [Elizondo], and he really opened us up. He encouraged us to make bolder arrangement choices, take those chances and try those things. The record really is a success in what we set out to do: continue to challenge ourselves, continue to grow, and do things we've never done before."

The members of Lake Street Dive founded the group in 2004 while attending the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. The band features Rachael Price (lead vocals), Mike "McDuck" Olson (trumpet, guitar), Bridget Kearney (bass) and Mike Calabrese (drums) as well as their newest member Akie Bermiss (keyboards), who has been a touring member of the group since 2017.

Since the band's inception, they have released six studio albums. Their 2018 self-produced record, Free Yourself Up, debuted at #4 on the Top Album Chart and charted #8 on the Billboard 200. In addition, the album's hit single "Good Kisser" peaked at #5 at Americana radio and appeared in the Top 20 at AAA radio, both career peaks for the band. The group has toured worldwide performing at major music festivals including Bonnaroo, New Orleans Jazz Festival and Newport Folk Festival while preforming alongside artists such as T Bone Burnett, The Avett Brothers, Robert Finley, Jack Johnson, and Trombone Shorty."

Great product! Worth the purchase
Color: White, Size: 2.5', Style: 2.5 ft
I just wanted a surge protected that's cheap and protects from lightning. I got this product since it was the highest rating for the price. I love this product, and it works great. I have all 6 used and it wasn't that hard to plug in the outlets as some say. It is a little harder than usually, but they don't fall out anymore! I haven't had lightning hit yet so I don't know how well it is against it, but it does come with a lifetime warranty! I just had a bad storm and it worked great, but no lightning struck the power line. I love the product for the price just don't like that it doesn't have the protected light on it (to let you know if you are still protected from lightning). Great product! Also this is a little bigger than a normal 6 outlet, but at least this one includes a surge protection!

Better than the basic power strip
Color: White, Size: 2.5', Style: 2.5 ft
I needed to get a basic five or six outlet power strip and instead ended up with this . Since the power strip that I was going to get was for basic protection, and would be plugged into a surge suppressor anyway, I really wasn't concerned about how much protection it offered. Just having the extra outlets for additional small-to-medium electrical devices was important. While looking and comparing this with basic power strips, I decided to check the manufacturer's site to see what specs they offered, since the ones here seemed to be a bit inadequate. Here's what I found: * 555 Joule energy rating provides maximum protection of all your sensitive electronic devices * 6 Surge-protected outlets supply 2-line AC protection * 2.5-foot power cord delivers optimal, safe AC power through a 14-gauge heavy-duty cord * Filters EMI/RFI noise up to 43 dB reduction * Maximum Spike Amperage of 36,000 Amps * Lifetime Product Warranty * $15,000 Connected Equipment Warranty The pros on this unit include the price, the basic surge protection, a short but sturdy power cord, and good basic construction. It has a power/reset switch that's recessed at the top of the unit near the power cord to prevent accidental shutting down. On the negative side, like so many of these units, the outlets are too close together to put more than a couple transformer-type devices like cell phone chargers and such. Just a couple of comments on the specifications listed above to those who may be interested: if you're going to plug high-end expensive electronics into one of these, don't do it. This is an adequate but very basic unit, and you want to consider getting a better grade surge suppressor for large screen televisions, good computer systems and such. No surge protector is 100% effective, but sure that the product is listed as a transient voltage surge suppressor, and that it meets the criteria for UL 1449, the absolute minimum performance standard for surge suppressors. I'm no electrical engineer or electronics technician, but if you're going to protect an expensive jogging machine, your new 52-inch television or Apple iMac 27-inch desktop system, you need better than an under $10 surge suppressor or power strip. A friend who I will refer to as the 'cranky electronic tech' told me to look it up on the 'Net, but make sure that whatever I got for protection of "really good stuff" needed to be minimally have a UL1449 3rd Edition certification and be rated at 1400 joules of surge protection or higher, and the rest would fall into place. The that I've used for years with my large electronics is rated at 3330 Joules, and meets those specs. If you plan to use a basic surge suppressor to charge cell phones and the like with their transformer plugs, units with right-angle outlets are a better, though more costly choice. My personal choice for mid-range protection combined with outstanding quality is the , a 5-star product that I own and have reviewed here. I run two notebook computers with this, along with a few chargers. There are others if you look. If all that you're looking for is a basic surge protector with a reasonable amount of surge suppression, then this one from Belkin is a decent choice, and certainly better than the basic power strip. I actually came back recently and bought a second one this year. But if your needs call for more, then the above listed alternates may be worth a look. 4/25/2012

It just works, and that is all that matters
Color: White, Size: 10 ft (Pack of 1), Style: 10 ft
It's a Belkin product. Do you really need to know anything more? My roommate bought a really crappy multi-outlet, it worked for the low wattage stuff, but for the higher wattage stuff the internal breaker kept popping. I bought this one, and it hasn't failed me yet.
