The BD-Power 1036770 E-PAS Positive Air Shutdown from GAP helps to stop your diesel engine from over-revving and running away. Diesel Engine Runaway is caused when external hydrocarbons are drawn into the engine and can cause overspeeding and catastrophic engine failure. The Electronic Positive Air Shutdown (E-PAS) unit is designed to cut the intake air supply to the cylinders and safely shut down the engine. The E-PAS controls the electronic throttle body in the intake manifold found on most late-model diesel engines by closing it to shut off the air supply in emergencies. The E-PAS can be installed with factory plug-in connectors and pre-made wiring harnesses. This kit includes an upgraded throttle plate and installation hardware. The E-PAS automatically resets itself after shutdown and can be easily removed for truck lease returns.
