Volgens sommigen weerhoudt de kleine christelijke partij kiezers om te stemmen op Geert Wilders of Thierry Baudet. Anderen denken juist dat SGP’ers lonken naar de PVV en Forum voor Democratie. Zijn de bevindelijk gereformeerden inderdaad een tikkeltje populistisch, zoals VVD-leider Mark Rutte zich eens liet ontvallen? In deze bundel gaan diverse wetenschappers in op de verhouding tussen de theocratische traditie en ‘de stem van het volk' in verleden en heden.
