Marlborough Valley Wines is centraal gelegen in de Wairau Valley in het Nieuw-Zeelandse Marlborough. Het wijnhuis gebruikt druiven van zorgvuldig geselecteerde wijngaarden in Marlborough en maakt daar wijnen mee met zuiver fruit in een herkenbare Marlborough-stijl. De wijnen bieden elke jaargang weer veel waar voor hun geld.

Marlborough is natuurlijk het meest beroemd om zijn Sauvignon Blancs. De unieke stijl van de streek is lastig te kopiëren in andere delen van de wereld door de bijzondere eigenschappen van de streek. De combinatie van goed drainerende bodems, veel zonuren en een groot temperatuurverschil tussen dag en nacht, geven de wijnen hun karakteristieke, expressieve karakter met uitgesproken tonen van tropisch fruit.

Het wijnhuis besteedt veel zorg aan bladbeheer en de juiste opbrengsten in de wijngaard. Daarmee blijven de wijnstokken gezond en vrij van ziektes. Daardoor is het fruit altijd hoog van kwaliteit.

Het wijnhuis maakt de populaire lijn Bishop’s Leap, die refereert naar de Maori-legende van een bisschop uit Marlborough. De bisschop werd achtervolgd door Maori en sprong daarom hoog van een rots in de Wairau-rivier, die tegenwoordig zo belangrijk is als levensbron voor de vele wijnstokken in het gebied. Zowel de Sauvignon Blanc als Pinot Noir in deze lijn vallen op door hun zuivere fruitprofiel en prettige frisheid.

Overall this is a very good product

I bought this because every sunblock I own eventually gets in my eyes and burns the living daylights out of them. I prefer to use something that isn't laden with chemicals, is cruelty free and reef safe so this looked like it would fit the bill and indeed, it does. It is a true "no tears" formula which I very much appreciate. As with so many zinc based sunblocks there's still a slight "Kabuki mask" effect but it isn't as bad as some of the other zinc products. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's easy to spread because it doesn't have a lot of "slip", doesn't glide like the non-zinc products. You do have to work with it for awhile to get rid of the decidedly chalky consistency but once you get going it seems to be okay. I think somebody else mentioned using a moisturizer before you put it on which seems like good idea even though this is supposed to be moisturizing. Would I purchase this again? I'm pretty sure I will because the "no tears" aspect of the product is important to me. I'll probably use it with a light carrier oil on my face first, let that oil sink in and then put this on top.
