In de herfst zijn de bladeren geel/oranje van kleur. De volwassen hoogte van deze struik voor middelgrote bostuinen en borders is ca. 2.5 meter en 1.5 meter breed. Deze winterharde Japanse Esdoorn verdraagt temperaturen tot -20 graden Celsius en staat graag in de halfzon.

De roodbladige Japanse esdoorn soorten zijn meer geschikt voor een plek in de volle zon (mits grond voldoende vochtig is) en deze groene voor halfschaduw of schaduwplekken. Ook verkrijgbaar in treurvorm (Virdis). 

Aanplanting en standplaats Japanse Esdoorn - Acer palmatum 'Dissectum'

Alle Japanse esdoorn - Acer palmatum soorten zijn zuurminnende tuinplanten. Gebruik daarom bij het aanplanten DCM - Aanplantgrond voor zuurminnende tuinplanten. Voorzie de grond jaarlijks van tuinturf om de bodem zuur te houden. Laat het afgevallen blad in het najaar liggen, deze verzuren tegelijkertijd de grond. De Japanse esdoorn soorten met groen blad zijn enkel geschikt voor een plek in de halfschaduw, volle zon in de zomer kan het blad wat beschadigen. Esdoorn soorten met rood en oranje blad kunnen ook op een plek in de halfschaduw worden aangeplant, mits de grond voldoende vochtig is in de zomermaanden.

Japanse esdoorn struiken zijn ook geschikt om aan te planten in een plantenpot. In de niet te kleine pot dient een laag hydrokorrels te zitten (ongeveer 1/3 van de pot of plantenbak) en goede potgrond. Gebruik tot slot bij het aanplanten DCM - Zuurminnende aanplantgrond. Verharding alleen mogelijk in de vorm van grind of split. Zorg voor voldoende bewatering!

The main thing to know is that it can take a little effort to rub in fully so you do not see it on your skin, but I do not consider that a major problem. That is pretty normal with many mineral sunscreens, and I would rather deal with that than use something that does not agree with my skin. Once applied, I have been happy with it and have no real complaints. Overall, it has been a good face sunscreen for me.

I’d call this a liquid and not lotion. It literally pours out of the tube without even squeezing so has to be held upright at all times when the cap is off. Makes a real mess (and I do shake it well before opening as the instructions say). Other than the packaging, I really like the product. It blends well with no white cast after rubbing in, is moisturizing without looking greasy at all or causing breakouts, and has provided good sun protection. Impressed! Also like that while water and sweatproof, it washes off with a gentle face cleanser at the end of the day unlike some of the zinc-based products I’ve tried that leave a thick coating and require scrubbing. Great for sensitive skin and actually dries clear!

I'm trying to be on top of my sunscreen application after YEARS of never wearing it. My skin is extremely sensitive and prone to eczema. Overall I can't recommend this enough, and I'm glad to finally have a sensitive-skin-friendly mineral sunscreen that doesn't leave a white cast :)

Where has this been my whole life

Let me give you some background. I’m middle eastern. That means I tan well but have two different skin tones; my January skin and my July skin. I wear a watch and I’ve been out of the sun since September. My tan hasn’t totally faded but the lighter band, that’s my real skin color. That’s how I want to be all over. It also does not get trapped in my dense, black eyebrows the way other products did. It would gross me out and look like I had flakes in my eyebrows. I just spent the week at Universal Studios and I did not burn. I didn’t tan either, which is great. Tanning is also a sign of sun damage. Chemical or mineral sunscreens often prevent sunburn but I still tan. I don’t want either. I am sold and will continue to buy this product. I feel great about that it has safer and better quality ingredients.
