AGM staat voor Absorbent Glass Mat. In deze accu’s is de elektrolyt doormiddel van capillaire werking geabsorbeerd in een glasvezel mat die geklemd is tussen de platen. AGM accu’s zijn in vergelijking met Gel accu’s meer geschikt voor het leveren van zeer hoge stroom gedurende korte tijd (het starten van de motor , Lier gebruik, zware omvormers bijvoorbeeld).
