Flexible Shaft Coupling for 5" B/W, Hurth - 13HP/100RPM Capacity

The R&D Flexible Couplings are fabricated from a contoured flexible disc molded in tough yet resilient new type polyurethane. The contoured disc gives clearance for the bolt heads, and is able to flex freely to take up any temporary misalignment of the engine and shaft, due to flexing of the boat structure or the engine moving on its rubber vibration isolation mountings. Forward thrust is taken in compression on the disc between the two half couplings and reverse thrust is taken again in compression on the disc between the two fail straps. In the unlikely event of a disc failure the steel straps make the coupling fail safe and ensure drive is maintained in both forward and reverse.

To calculate power of coupling required:
Horse Power of Engine x Reduction Ratio x 100 = HP/100RPM
      Engine Speed

Example:
Ford 150 HP at 2500 RPM with Borg Warner Velvet Drive 72C 2:1 Reduction Ratio
Engine Horse Power is 150 HP, Max Rated RPM is 2500, Reduction Ratio is 2:1
150/2500 X 2 x 100 = 12hp per 100RPM
Coupling required is 910-009

The R & D Marine Flexible Coupling fits between the transmission output flange and shaft coupling. It is designed to protect a boat's drivetrain. The unit will reduce vibration, compensate for some misalignment, isolate the shaft and absorb shock loads.

The flexible disc is machined from a resilient and durable polyurethane. It allows the unit to flex, absorbing vibrations and temporary misalignment of the shaft and engine due to movement of the engine or flexing in the vessel's structure.

The polyurethane disc is backed up by two metal compression straps, one on either side of the flexible coupling. These metal straps hold the system in constant compression whether the drivetrain is in forward or reverse. This feature extends the life of the system dramatically.

The R & D Marine Flexible Coupling will also absorb shockloads resulting from gear changes, or the propeller striking a submerged object. The polyurethane disk will distort with light shock loads and is designed to be sacrificial in the event of severe shock load, saving on expensive drivetrain repairs. If the disc is destroyed from massive shockload the metal compression straps keep the coupling intact ensuring that the drive system is functional in both forward and reverse.

Why R&D Marine Flexible Shaft Couplings?
  • Polyurethane flange creates a flexible barrier to reduce drivetrain noise and vibration to quiet your drivetrain
  • Absorbs transmission shock load caused by the propeller and high speed gear changes. This helps to reduce and avoid costly transmission damage
  • Fail safe design, both forward and reverse thrust is taken in compression from the steel straps, giving a durable design even in extreme conditions

Amazing!
Format: Kindle, Format: Kindle
This book was phenomenal, I devoured it within a few days! For this being a debut novel, it is fantastic and I would’ve thought the author was a seasoned author. I have zero complaints about this book. Let me start by saying that the world building was phenomenal. I could picture everything in my head because of how detailed it was — that’s how good it was written. And I absolutely love the “captive/captor” trope so much, it’s become one of my favorite tropes, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that this book had that. I loved the banter between Rogue and Ara — they’re both snarky and witty, plus with the romantic tension, it made the dialogue that much better. Speaking of romantic tension, yes there is spice but not so much of it that it overrides the plot, which I loved. For me, this would probably be on the 3/5 level of spice. This book had a ton of plot twists and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

High on Tropes and Satisfaction
Format: Kindle
This is a great Romantasy book full of action, adventure, and everything you look for in this genre. I won’t lie: it does kinda feel like the author found every common trope from every successful book of this kind and threw them all into this novel. But if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Especially in romance, there’s a large audience who has specific expectations, and they want them every time. Nothing wrong with that and many times I’m one of them. I have no idea what defines a spoiler honestly, so spoiler alert!!!!!!! Tropes include: Only one bed at the inn/bar Dissatisfaction with life before hunk appears Lost royalty The chosen one Montage of dress up time followed by shocked hunk Forbidden romance between two from rival peoples Power that cannot be controlled, simply guided/asked Gathering intel at the inn/bar FMC who knows how to fight/use weapons well There’s probably more but no need to list them all. Good story and I would recommend!

OUTSTANDING
Format: Kindle
This was very, very good. The world is vast and characters are complex. There is a good plot with a whole lot going on. This is well written. Good twists and turns and some heart breaking moments. You will love these characters, they have heart and loyalty. I am hoping that there will be several more books. We've yet to see anything from the Sea Court but only a mention of them here and there. The Wood Court was given a quick couple of scenes, and only as far as some warriors, we've yet to enter their court and the Shadow Court, I'm not sure if they will be a force for good or bad, but they definitely will play a much bigger role moving forward. This is primarily the Ice and Air Courts. Told in multiple views, which I loved, it gives you a chance to see things from different eyes. There's alot of political maneuvering and deception. I loved it and will pick up the next book as it becomes available. If you like The Fae and the courts, you should love this. I think the author has mucn in store for us.

Definitely worth the read!
Format: Kindle
After taking a deep breath and taking in that wicked twist of an ending, I have finally composed myself. My first thought when I started this book was that I love Reyna's character. I was intrigued by her connection with her familiar and the Ruin that is plaguing her land. It came as no surprise that she took her sister's place in an attempt to protect her. When they reach the Air Court everything slows down. This is where it was iffy for me. First of all, I like multiple POV's in books however 7 is a bit much. It starts to interrupt the story line. I felt like I was finally making progress connecting with one character, then it was switched to another person. I felt they all had necessary or pertinent information but not necessarily were they all POV worthy. The only other thing that annoyed me was that Reyna constantly was " trapped." She would rush off without thinking, only to need rescuing. She is brilliant in a fight, but she really doesn't think through anything. Lorcan is amazing. I know he might be on the "bad" list, but his background is so interesting. Eislyn(Reyna's sister) is really so sweet, but calculating. I enjoyed her and Thane's dialogue. The author did an amazing job with the imagery in this book. Everything was so detailed it was easy to fall into the scene. I love unexpected twists and while part of the ending I expected, I wasn't expecting how it took place. All in all, I found it very entertaining and I am very invested in continuing this series. Favorite quotes: "The truth may be twisted but never false." "Who was she if she was not the enemy of the Air Court? What was her purpose of she no longer has that?" "In a war-torn land, love was always a lie."

Great Read!!! Great story!!!
Format: Kindle
The series is long, but Ms. Wolfhart does a fantastic job of weaving this tale while bringing so much to the characters. Surprises and plot twists along the way to keep you intrigued. There is some graphic sex, but is no way the focal point. Grammar was excellent (a rare find with a lot of self publishers) with only a few noted errors. I rarely give 4 stars, let alone 5.
